Caring For Your Gear

How To Clean Your Gear:

  • Rinse regularly with warm water and gentle soap.
  • For stuck-on dirt, wipe with a soft, damp cloth.
  • Be sure to rinse and dry thoroughly after swimming, muddy play, and exposure to saltwater.
  • Dry thoroughly after washing.

Additional Care Tips:

  • Avoid the use of flea collars, topical flea medicine, oils, aggressive soaps, bug spray, pesticides, and products with certain chemicals such as DEET when using BioThane® collars and leashes as this could cause damage or deterioration.
  • Do not leave collars or leashes in the sun for extended periods. The heat and UV exposure can cause damage or deterioration.
  • Do not allow collars or leashes to rub against rough surfaces.
  • Our collars and leashes are designed for leash-trained pets under standard, supervised use and are not intended for tie-outs, unsupervised play, chewing, pullers, or extreme conditions.
  • BioThane is NOT chew-proof.
  • Though rare, some BioThane® colors may bleed or transfer onto surfaces like hair, skin, or fabric. Bright and fluorescent colors are most susceptible. Please be aware of this when choosing your colors.
  • Brass and other non-stainless steel hardware will oxidize or patina over time and may leave a mark on the collar or fur. Please be aware of this when choosing your hardware.
  • Crystals are available in the finish and crystal color options shown in listing photos. The rivets holding the crystals are NOT stainless steel or brass and may rust, tarnish, or scratch.
  • Crystal-adorned collars should be treated with care like fine jewelry and are not intended for use in extreme conditions including exposure to chlorine or saltwater.
  • Regularly check all items for wear and tear and replace when needed. Seller is not liable for damages or accidents caused by products.
