Finding Your Dog's Collar Size

To find your dog's collar size, we recommend using one of the two methods described below.

Method 1:

  1. Grab a soft measuring tape or a piece of string long enough to measure your dog's neck.
  2. Have your dog sit.
  3. Place the measuring tape or string around your dog's neck in the position that their collar usually sits.
  4. Make sure to leave enough room for two fingers to fit comfortably between the tape and neck.
  5. Find and note the point where the string or tape meets itself. If using string, keep track of the point, lay the string flat, and measure the total length.
  6. Round the measurement to the nearest half inch. When in doubt between two sizes, size up!

Method 2:

  1. Choose a collar that fits your dog well.
  2. Lay the collar on a flat surface.
  3. Using a measuring tape, measure as shown in the diagram.
  4. Round to the nearest half-inch. When in doubt between two sizes, size up. This is your numerical size!
  5. Note that the hole that best fits your dog may not be in the middle position on your collar. Make sure to measure to the best fitting hole as your measurement regardless of position.
Collar Sizing:
Your measurement in inches directly corresponds to the same number on our standard size chart shown below. For example, if your measurement is 16”, you would choose a size Large collar.
Custom Sizing:
If your dog's neck is between collar sizes, or at the end of the range for our standard sizing, we can make a collar custom to the measurement of your pup to make sure you get a perfect fit every time. For example, if your measurement is 18”, we can create a custom size collar with the middle hole at 18". Reach out to us for more information!
